By the Rocks Down at Crystal Cove
By the rocks, down at Crystal Cove
Where salty crustaceans meander cross rows
Of brown and green seaweed all covered in foam
Two rag-tag sailors did happen to roam
Fresh back from a journey and on their way home
By the rocks, down at Crystal Cove
The sea to their backs, these companions did gaze
To the untold horizon still thick in the haze
A new journey ahead, a trip thru life's maze
They say their farewells, goodbye till the day
They would meet again with their fortunes to show
By the rocks, down at Crystal Cove
Years had gone by, twenty or more
The two found themselves on a familiar shore
Comparing their scars and recounting old lore
When they found an old skiff with splintering oars
They pushed into the sea and started to row
From the rocks, down at Crystal Cove
The rocks, the cove, the whole world shrank
A red sun on the western horizon sank
The wise, salty pirates sang shanties and drank
Rhyming about mermaids and a walk off a plank
Betwixt ocean and stars still do they rove
And some nights, you may hear them
By the rocks, down at Crystal Cove
