Neither and Both

TW: Gender Dysphoria / Self-loathing

I hate myself because I’m not a woman,

And because I’m not a man.

I love myself for being neither and both,

A screwball in God’s plan.

I’ve hurt myself because I’m gay,

And because I’m straight.

I love myself for being neither and both,

For only love can heal hate.

Sometimes I cry because I feel dead,

And sometimes because I’m alive.

I love myself for being neither and both,

And for now I’m content to survive.
